This should have happened. I was most seriously displeased.
I just rewatched Lost in Austen this week, and yet again, I was seriously displeased that she ended up with Darcy. It made no sense. Wickham was seriously wonderful.
It made no sense with Darcy and Amanda’s characters either. It was forced in a bad way, like we have to have our Mary Sue end up with the famous Mr. Darcy and have every girl’s dream.
Wickham made so much more sense. He helped her when she was kicked out of the Bennet home had nothing and when he had only two pounds to her one. He trained her to face Lady Catherine. And the Georgiana reversal with his continued insistance not to ruin Georgiana by telling the truth and relieve him from the continued hatred of Darcy. He went and saved Amanda from revealing she had no parents in Hammersmith. He found the surgeon she needed to save Mr. Bennet. And he asked for nothing in return.
That sound like a much better option than the man who rejected you, dismissed your words, distrusted you, and kicked you out of his house. I don’t see how they had the power to last as Mr. and Mrs. Darcy.
Lost in Austen 2 - Amanda decides she can’t be the someone that has to be a Mrs. Darcy. She realizes she loves Wickham so she grabs him and they go back into the future. THE END.

Fret not, ladies. I am here. And while I do not necessarily agree with deviating from canon, I must say that I agree with all of the above.
However- it is right that I did not end up with an Amanda Price. I more infinitely prefer the charms of many of you here on tumblr.
